Minister Dacic receives a farewell call from Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia |

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today a farewell call from Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Serbia Harry Kandou who is about to bring his term of office to an end.
Minister Dacic thanked Ambassador Kandou for his personal contribution to the promotion of bilateral relations between Serbia and Indonesia, conveying his belief that the decades-long friendly relations between our countries would continue to be promoted, particularly with regard to economic and parliamentary cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture and sports. Minister Dacic expressed his pleasure over the high level of understanding existing between Serbia and Indonesia on issues that were key for the two countries. He stressed in particular his gratitude to Indonesia for its principled and unambiguous position concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of so-called Kosovo, as well as for the continued support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness for the further strengthening of mutual high-level dialogue, in the context of which Minister Dacic expressed his hope that the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Retno Marsudi, would visit Serbia in 2019. Indonesian Ambassador Harry Kandou thanked Minister Dacic for his personal contribution to the promotion of Serbia-Indonesia bilateral relations. He noted that he was pleased with the level of bilateral cooperation achieved in the previous period, while reaffirming the interest of Indonesia to further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations. The Ambassador extended his gratitude for the excellent cooperation at the multilateral level as well, and in particular for the support offered by Serbia in the election of Indonesia as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2019-2020. He reiterated once again the firm position of Indonesia concerning non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of "Kosovo" which would remain the same in the future as well. |
