First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, in the context of the Polish chairmanship of the Berlin Process, during which the upcoming Sixth Western Balkans Summit will take place in July 2019.
The meeting presented an opportunity to get acquainted with Warsaw's activities during its Berlin Process chairmanship and to exchange views on the situation in the region, regional cooperation and the European perspective for the Western Balkans, i.e., the reforms carried out there with EU facilitation. In the talks, Minister Dacic affirmed Serbia's commitment to strengthening the regional cooperation which it perceived as a process complementary to that aimed at a closer Serbia-EU connectivity as well as at a mechanism contributing to the reconciliation process by giving additional encouragement to overall regional development. Furthermore, both sides underlined the importance of promoting bilateral relations between Serbia and Poland, in which context significant potential was identified, particularly concerning economic cooperation. |
