Nemana Stevanovic and Uch BoritPhnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia, was the venue of a round of regular political consultations held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia whose delegations were led by State Secretary of the MFA of Serbia Nemanja Stevanovic and Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia Uch Borit.

It was underlined in the consultations that mutual relations between the two countries had been continuously and successfully maintained for more than sixty years, and both measures and practical steps agreed in order to improve them in the future. This primarily concerns exchange of visits at the top level, possible re-establishment of a diplomatic mission in both countries, intensification of economic cooperation and holding of a business forum in Belgrade next year, signing of a larger number of bilateral agreements through which cooperation would be promoted in the fields of economy, tourism, sports and in other areas.

On the Serbian side, it was particularly stressed that we were most grateful for Cambodia's consistent support to the integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and for its strong refusal to recognize the unilateral declaration of independence of so-called Kosovo and its principled position against Kosovo's membership in international organizations, which was reflected in practice in the vote against their Interpol membership bid, while these consultations were in progress.
