Brussels, 19 November 2018 - In the framework of the chairmanship of the Serbian Mission to NATO of the informal South East European Security Cooperation Group (SEEGROUP), a thematic meeting was held on 16 November at the NATO headquarters in Brussels,dedicated to the civil exercise in the field of emergency planning "Srbija 2018", which took place 8-11 October in the area around Mladenovac.
The director of the international field exercise on behalf of the NATO Euro-Atlantic Center for Emergency Situations (EADRCC), C.Zoikas, expressed gratitude to R. Serbia for the organization of the exercise, which he rated as the largest, most complex and most successful in the 20-year history of EADRCC. A total of 40 countries participated, out of which 23 sent their rescue teams. The Assistant Head of the Sector For Emergency Management of the Ministry of the Interior of the R.Serbia I. Baras pointed out that there were around 2,000 participants in the exercise, out of which 900 from abroad - besides NATO member and partners, representatives of international organizations (EU, UN, OSCE, International Red Cross) also took part. The thematic meeting was attended by representatives of NATO member states and partners, as well as from the NATO International Secretariat. |
