First Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic attended an event hosted by the French Embassy to Serbia on the occasion of the commemoration of one hundred years since the signing of Armistice that ended World War I.
After the laying of wreaths at the French war cemetery in Belgrade, Minister Dacic said that it was important to send a message of peace, reconciliation and a common future for European nations. He pointed out that WWI brought enormous suffering to Serbia as we lost a third of our population in that war. "This must be a great lesson to us that it is not enough for us to be heroes at wat, but we must also be wise enough in peace-time in order not to lose what we have already won." |
