Traditional friendship, respect and mutual understanding between Serbia and Laos

LaosFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received a farewell call from Mr. Phoukhao Phommavongsa, non-resident Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to the Republic of Serbia, based at the Embassy of Laos in Austria.

The Serbian Foreign Minister conveyed gratitude to Ambassador Phommavongsa for his active engagement towards the promotion of all-round bilateral relations between the two countries during his four-year term-of-office. He affirmed that Serbia and Laos were traditionally tied by friendship, respect and mutual understanding, particularly on the issue of adherence to international law.

In this regard, Minister Dacic expressed his profound gratitude for the firm and continued support of Laos to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.

Minister Dacic expressed his belief that the years-long friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Lao People's Democratic Republic would continue their rising trend at all levels. He underscored the significant scope existing for the promotion of economic cooperation, noting that Serbia was open to establishing a contractual basis with Laos in this field.

He welcomed the intensification of educational cooperation between the two countries.

Finally, both sides expressed readiness for the further promotion and deepening of bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and Laos.
