In a brief ceremony held in the context of a bilateral meeting in the margins of the 73rd UNGA General Debate, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Immigration of Antigua and Barbuda Chet Greene signed a Joint Communique on the establishment of diplomatic relations.

In a friendly conversation, the two Ministers exchanged views about global and regional political processes, with special emphasis on opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation.

Minister Dacic also acquainted his colleague with the course of the comprehensive reforms undertaken by the Government of Serbia, and with Serbia's European integration process.

The Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda underlined that his country aimed to have as many friends across the globe as possible, and that the cooperation evolved to the mutual satisfaction, for which reason they also intended to set up a legal framework by entering into international treaties in all areas of mutual interest.

Both Ministers expressed their satisfaction over the establishment of diplomatic relations, which were a precondition for further cooperation.
