Ivica Dacic and Riyad al-MalikiFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met yesterday in New York, at the margins of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad al-Maliki.

In a friendly and substantive meeting, the Ministers discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation and current international affairs.

They stressed the closeness of ties and friendly cooperation between the two states which developed for the mutual benefit of both countries and peoples.

The two Foreign Ministers agreed on holding a session of the Joint Economic Committee, as well on celebrating the anniversary of the two states' diplomatic relations, taking into account that the next year will mark 30 years since their establishment.

The Ministers exchanged views on political processes and security challenges in the Western Balkans and the Middle East, including on the best ways to resolve open issues facing the two regions.
