Acting Assistant Minister of Security Policy Ambassador Branimir Filipovic received today James Mackey, Head of the Euro-Atlantic and Global Partnership Office, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division, NATO, during his visit to Belgrade, where he participated in the Final Planning Conference on Serbia 2018 Disaster Management Field Exercise, to be jointly organized with the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), and to be held in Serbia next October.
The interlocutors discussed the former and future activities within the political dialogue, as well as the specific forms of cooperation between Serbia and NATO through the Partnership for Peace in different areas, particularly related to joint activities in preparing the new cycle of Individual Partnership Action Plan between Serbia and NATO, as the foremost mechanism of cooperation between NATO and a partner country not aspiring to NATO membership. An assessment was made that the preparations for the up-coming civilian field exercise "Serbia 2018" were unfolding very well, and that the announcement of a large number of exercise participants was particularly encouraging. The talks underlined the KFOR role, under UNSC resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement, in the preservation of peace and stability in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as the importance of the implementation of all commitments undertaken, based on the Brussels Agreement. |
