Palestine First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked today with the State of Palestine Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Europe, Amal Jadou, who is heading the Palestinian delegation at the talks held within the first round of bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the State of Palestine.

The political consultations between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Palestine are carried out in line with the Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the State of Palestine, signed by Ministers Ivica Dacic and Riyad al Maliki, in July 2015, during the official visit to the Republic of Serbia by President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas.

Welcoming his Palestinian guest, Minister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the support regarding the Kosovo and Metohija issue and underlined Serbia's readiness to continue to develop its traditionally friendly relations and cooperation with Palestine in all areas of mutual interest, including continued cooperation in education through the already established practice of granting scholarships to Palestinian students for studying at Serbian universities.

The Serbian Foreign Minister thanked his counterpart for extensive information concerning the latest developments in the Middle East region, and informed Amal Jadou of the on-going activities of the Republic of Serbia within the dialogue with Pristina in Brussels regarding the Kosovo and Metohija issue.
