First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, who arrived on an official visit to Nepal, had a meeting with his host, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.

Welcoming the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Minister Gyawali expressed his great pleasure at the visit, particularly in view of the fact that the frequency of high and highest level meetings has not been commensurate with the traditional friendship between the two countries.

Minister Gyawali expressed the readiness of the Nepal Government to make efforts towards comprehensive promotion of bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly regarding economic cooperation.

The Serbian Foreign Minister thanked Minister Gyawali for his hospitality and expressed the sincere desire of the Serbian Government to realize as many as possible specific forms of bilateral cooperation in the period ahead, primarily in political, economic, cultural, educational, sports and other areas. Dacic expressed his particular satisfaction with the presence in Serbia of one of Nepal's major companies "Chaudhary Group" of Katmandu, which opened its first European factory for noodle and other semi-processed pastry food production, in Ruma, October 2017. Expectation was also expressed that other Nepalese companies would increase their presence in Serbia, following in the footsteps of the "Chaudhary Group".

Minister Dacic announced the possibility of visa exemption for nationals of Nepal, which was met by the Nepalese side with great pleasure.

Foreign Minister Dacic expressed his particular gratitude for the principled position of the Government of Nepal on non-recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of "Kosovo", and informed Minister Gyawali extensively about the situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

Minister Dacic invited his Nepalese counterpart to visit Serbia in the period ahead, which was accepted with pleasure.

Minister Gyawali expressed strong and unwavering support to the efforts of the Republic of Serbia to preserve its territorial integrity and sovereignty. He stated that Nepal was committed to the respect of international law and the integrity of internationally recognized states, and that it would closely cooperate with the Republic of Serbia in this process.
