Dacic and Ossowski discuss Serbia’s European perspective, Serbia-Germany cooperation

Ivica Dacic and OssowskiFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic, at the margins of the conference "New Perspectives for the Western Balkans", hosted by the ISAC Fund, met with Thomas Ossowski, Director for EU Policies in the German Federal Foreign Office.

In the meeting, the officials discussed Serbia's European perspective and common challenges ahead. They particularly pointed to the advanced level of cooperation and highly developed bilateral relations between Germany and Serbia, at both technical and top political levels.

The collocutors welcomed the EU focusing again on the Western Balkans and expressed hope that the period to come would be used for Serbia's further progress towards European integration. Furthermore, they agreed that Serbia was a factor of regional stability and a credible partner of Germany and the EU, as demonstrated during the migrant crisis in the context of which the cooperation would continue. Taking into account the challenges posed at both regional and European levels, the officials reiterated the need for a deepened cooperation and open discussion.
