First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today in a courtesy call the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Serbia, on a non-resident basis, with residence in Rome, Mrs. Zenebu Tadase Voldecadik.
In welcoming Madam Ambassador, Minister Dacic pointed to the importance of further strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries that share a long and rich history. He emphasized the need to work closely to promote currently underdeveloped economic cooperation. Minister Dacic expressed special gratitude for the Ethiopian position in connection with the unilaterally declared independence of "Kosovo" and expressed the hope that Ethiopia would maintain such policy in the future. He wished Ethiopia to continue to grow and develop at a faster pace and overcome the existing difficulties, offering Serbia's assistance along that road. Both sides agreed that political dialogue needed to be stepped up, with the exchange of visits and continued mutual support in international fora. |
