A round of regular political consultations between the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation at the level of State Secretaries was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Stevanovic discussed topics of common interest with Krystyna Marty Lang, Deputy State Secretary of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.

The officials exchanged views on bilateral political relations, economic cooperation, the Brussels Dialogue, regional relations, multilateral cooperation and the new Swiss Strategy on economic and development cooperation with Serbia for the period 2018-2021, which was formally delivered to Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic the day before.

The new Strategy envisages donations amounting to over EUR 90 million to be channelled into economic development, energy efficiency and government administration (administrative authorities, social inclusion) as well as into a dual education system, for which purposes allocation of significant funding was planned.

With a view to intensifying the political dialogue and strengthening the overall relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Swiss Confederation, it was agreed to hold the next round of political consultations in Switzerland in 2019.
