The importance of connecting economies of Serbia and Iraq

Minister Dacic with students from the former YugoslaviaFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Iraq, met with representatives of an association of Iraqis who had studied in the SFRY, Secretary General of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce Abdul Hussein Mubarak and Chairman of the Federation Jaafar Al-Hamdani, and also a delegation of Iraqi entrepreneurs.



Representatives of the student association reminisced in a brief conversation about their university days spent in Belgrade, recalling the significant economic cooperation carried out between the two states in the second half of the 20th century.

Mubarak and Al-Hamdani pointed to the great opportunities available for connecting the two economies and the importance of Serbian companies participating in the upcoming stage of reconstruction and development of Iraq.

In the meeting, Minister Dacic informed the entrepreneurs from the Federation and the student association about the current state of play concerning the economic cooperation between the two countries and also about the areas of cooperation in which the Serbian economy had a potential.
