ambasador i_dijasporaJapan Serbia Society and Serbian diaspora in Japan had a meeting in the Serbian Embassy in Tokyo, on 29 September 2017, at the initiative of the Society’s President Tadashi Nagai, former Ambassador of Japan to Serbia and honorary citizen of Belgrade. This was an opportunity for bringing together Serbian diaspora in Japan and members of the Japan Serbia Society, whose membership has been growing year in year out.

Ambassador of Serbia to Japan Nenad Glisic underlined the importance of such events for strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries, while Ambassador Nagai expressed hope that similar meetings would be organized on an annual basis. On the occasion, writer Branka Takahashi presented “Train from Crimea, Women’s Sleeper”, her new book of short stories in Japanese. The fifty visitors included three women trainees of the Japan Aviation Academy, out of a total of five high school student scholarship holders from Serbia, currently attending the Academy. Serbian traditional food and drinks were served.
