Consular consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran were held at the level of Assistant Foreign Ministers in Tehran, on 3 October 2017.
In the consultations, views were exchanged on mutual consular cooperation with particular emphasis on the visa travel regime, i.e. the implementation of the decision of the Serbian Government on the waiver of a visa requirement for Iranian ordinary passport holders, which was adopted with a view to promoting the cooperation between the two countries in all areas, first and foremost, in the economy, trade, investment, tourism and education. The Iranian side announced that procedure was under way for reciprocal visa exemptions for holders of ordinary Serbian passports. The need for signing new consular agreements was also discussed. Consular consultations were meaningful, conducted in the spirit of friendly relations, and they noted the readiness existing in both sides for further improvement of consular cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the Islamic Republic of Iran. |
