Minister Dacic confers with Minister Lavrov in Moscow

Meeting Dacic - LavrovFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today, in Moscow, Mr Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.

Ministers Dacic and Lavrov assessed that the bilateral relations were at a very high level, and that they were developing in all areas, to both parties' satisfaction.

The Serbian Foreign Minister thanked for the continuous support that the Russian Federation lent Serbia in respect of the major issues concerning Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Minister Dacic pointed out that the aim was to increase trade, now exceeding two billion euros, and that this was within the scope of realistic possibilities.

Minister Lavrov underlined his satisfaction with the bilateral relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation. He emphasized that the Presidents of the two states were maintaining regular contacts, and that their dialogue helped the development of cooperation in all areas. The RF Minister recalled that he recently had a meeting with President Vucic, in New York.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that the cooperation and communication between the two Ministries was very good, and that it would be maintained, in the spirit of friendship and further development.

In today's meeting, the two Ministers also discussed the commemoration of the 180th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and agreed that the jubilee should be marked the following year.

Minister Dacic, who is also the Co-Chair of the Serbia-Russia Intergovernmental on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation, pointed out that the next regular session of the Intergovernmental Committee would take place in Serbia, and that this would be discussed in a meeting with Mr Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and the Russian Co-Chair of the Committee.
