On his last day of stay in New York, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a number of bilateral meetings, in the margins of the UNGA session. Minister Dacic talked to the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Eritrea and Bhutan.


In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, Mr. Aslov Sirodjidin Muhridinovich, Minister Dacic assessed that the relations between the two states were friendly, and expressed Serbia's readiness to promote cooperation in various fields, especially in trade and economic cooperation. The Minister also suggested that the two sides should consider signing agreements on scientific, technological and cultural cooperation, protection of investments and abolition of visas on all types of travel documents held by citizens of both states.

The Minister thanked for the principled position of Tajikistan regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and invited Minister Aslov to visit Serbia.

Minister Aslov underlined the good bilateral relations and the importance of cooperation at the bilateral level, and in international and regional organizations. He agreed that additional efforts should be invested to enhance cooperation in all areas, expressing the readiness to visit Serbia.

In the talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Eritrea, Mr. Osman Mohammed Saleh, both sides noted the good and friendly relations between the two states.

Minister Saleh emphasized that the position of Eritrea regarding Kosovo and Metohija was firm, and that it would not change.

The Serbian Foreign Minister emphasized that Serbia was interested in strengthening and enhancing cooperation in all areas, especially in the fields of economy, culture and education. On the occasion, Minister Dacic said that he would consider the possibility of visiting Eritrea in the upcoming period.

In a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan, Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, the Ministers agreed that the relations between the two countries had been traditionally good ever since the era of the former SFRY, noting that there was room for further enhancement of economic cooperation, and cooperation in education.

Minister Dacic informed his counterpart from Bhutan about the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, and thanked for the country's principled position regarding the issue of Kosovo and Metohija.
