Minister Dacic in talks with Foreign Ministers of Indonesia, Holy See, Iran and Venezuela

Meeting Dacic - MFA of VaticanFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a bilateral meeting with Ms. Retno Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, on the fringes of the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

As he pointed out that the relations between the two countries were friendly and good, Minister Dacic also emphasized that there was room for promotion of cooperation in various fields, and economy in particular. He expressed his gratitude for the principled position of Indonesia concerning Kosovo and Metohija and informed the Minister about the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

Minister Marsudi agreed that the strengthening of economic cooperation should be worked on, noting that some progress in this regard had already been made. She confirmed that Serbia could count on the support of Indonesia concerning Kosovo and Metohija, adding that she would explore the possibility of visiting Serbia next year.

In the talks with Paul Richard Gallagher, the Vatican's Secretary for Relations with States, Minister Dacic underlined Serbia's willingness to strengthen its cooperation with the Holy See and stressed the important role the Holy See played in the preservation of peace and stability in the entire region. Minister Dacic invited Secretary Gallagher to visit Serbia.

The Head of Serbian diplomacy yesterday also had brief talks with Foreign Minister of Venezuela Jorge Arreaza and Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif.

In the cordial talks with Minister Arreaza, the interlocutors discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.

With Minister Zarif, the Serbian Foreign Minister discussed the strengthening of bilateral political dialogue. They affirmed the readiness of the two countries for the intensification of overall bilateral relations, and in particular the economic cooperation.
