helsinki 31082017_1Pinocchio puppet theatre from Belgrade gave a performance titled "Max Metallic" in the centre of Helsinki, on 31 August 2017. Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Finland Sasa Obradovic welcomed the actors and animators from Belgrade, before the performance.

Max Metallic the Puppet strolled the streets of Helsinki and walked down Esplanade Park, bringing the message of friendship to the children of Helsinki. As the passers-by greeted the Puppet, Ambassador Sasa Obradovic waited in front of the Espa stage. The Puppet conveyed the message of the children of Belgrade to the Chairperson of the EC-created European Network for the diffusion of Performing Arts for Early Childhood, Ms. Katariina Metsalampi. The message, written on a banner, reverberated the lines authored by the Serbian poet Ljubivoje Rsumovic: "Flowers decorate gardens, children decorate flowers, but children full of fancy decorate the world".

The performance took place in the context of the first Helsinki puppet theatre festival SAMPO 2017, which proved an opportunity for the capital of Finland to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Puppet Theatre Sampo, founded by the renowned artistic family from Belgrade – the Baric family.
