In cooperation with the Centre for Holocaust Research and Religious Minorities based in Oslo and the Narvik Centre from Narvik, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Oslo organized, on 21 May, a lecture titled "Yugoslav captives in Norway between 1942 and 1945 – from mass murders by the SS to the Red Cross package under Wehrmacht", held by historian Michael Stokke from the Narvik Centre. The lecture took place at the building of the Holocaust Centre in Oslo.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in the Kingdom of Norway, Mrs. Suzana Boskovic-Prodanovic welcomed the audience, underlining that in 2017, we would mark 75 years since Serbian, i.e. Yugoslav internees came to Norway, in 1942. Moreover, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of this anniversary, to be commemorated by holding a number of events in the north of Norway in mid-June 2017, in cooperation with the Norwegian authorities, the Western Balkans – Norway friendship society and the Federation of Serbian Associations in Norway. Ambassador Boskovic-Prodanovic highlighted that the Norwegians helped the Serbian captives and showed sympathy during the detention of Serbian internees in the SS-run concentration camps and labour camps of Wehrmacht, which was a "cornerstone of the traditional and sincere friendship between the Serbian and Norwegian peoples, which has lasted to the present day".

Following the lecture, a film "The Cross Made of Blood" by Bosnian director Simo Brdar was shown. The screening was attended by representatives of the Norwegian academia, NGOs and think-tanks, representatives of the diplomatic corps and members of the Serbian diaspora in Norway.
