Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, headed by Acting Assistant Foreign Minister Ambassador Aca Jovanovic, participated in the 7th session of the Diaspora and Serbs of the Region Committee at the Serbian National Assembly.

The theme of the meeting was "Status and Pprospects of Serbs in the Region". The Committee's session was also attended by representatives of Serbs of the region, MPs in parliaments of regional countries, as well as by Djordje Milicevic, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

The Committee discussed the status of Serbs in the region, preservation and usage of Serbian language, opportunities for education in Serbian, as well as representation of Serbs within state institutions in the countries of the region.

Representatives of Serbs of the region stressed in particular the devastation of Serbian cultural heritage as well as attempts at revisionism of the anti-Fascist past.
