Minister Dacic in talks with UN Secretary-General |

Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked today in the margins of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) with Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres.
Minister Dacic congratulated once again Mr. Guterres on his election as UN Secretary-General and expressed readiness of Serbia for further cooperation with the United Nations, including in the framework of UN peacekeeping operations. The Serbian Foreign Minister informed his interlocutor that a UN House opened its doors in Belgrade. Minister Dacic invited Mr. Guterres to visit Serbia. Minister Dacic underlined in particular that it was very important to Serbia that the status-neutral UN Mission (UNMIK) remained in Kosovo and Metohija, under UNSC Resolution 1244. UN Secretary-General Guterres underlined that position of the UN was clear, that it was necessary that the Mission remained in the area, since the problem had not yet been resolved. In today's meeting they also discussed other issues concerning regional security. Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic today also talked with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. The two collocutors discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as their energy cooperation. Today's meeting was also attended by Minister of Agriculture Branislav Nedimovic and Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic. They considered prospects of Hungary being a guest at the Agricultural Fair in 2018. |
