bgd.konf 1852017The first round of the Belgrade Conference between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Poland was held in Warsaw on 18 May 2017, at the initiative of the Polish side.


The delegation of the Republic of Serbia was headed by the Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zoran Vujic, while the host delegation was led by Ms. Anna Sochańska, Deputy Director at the MFA's European Policy Department, in charge of the SEE and enlargement policy.

The Conference was structured as a series of meetings discussing the national administration's practical experiences in the EU accession process and cooperation with the EU on the Common Foreign and Security Policy, as well as on the EU's Common Security and Defence Policy, domestic issues/migration, the judiciary and accession negotiations in the field of agriculture.

Discussing the progress made by Serbia in the European integration process, gratitude was conveyed for the continued support Poland extended to Serbia on its European path. The conclusions of the meeting underlined that the established platform represented a concrete form of cooperation and a successful format for further exchange of experiences in the process of EU accession.

In the margins of the conference, a separate meeting was held between the Serbian MFA's Political Director Zoran Vujic and the Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Witold Sobków.

The next conference is planned to take place in Belgrade in 2018.
