In the talks, the officials assessed the current political and security situation in Kosovo and Metohija, prospects of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the activity of UNMIK, to which the Republic of Serbia attached great importance. They underlined the importance of further engagement of the Mission, undiminished in scope, in areas vital for the survival, normal and dignified life of Serbs and persons belonging to other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo and Metohija. Minister Dacic expressed particular gratitude for the efforts made in the fulfilment of the UNMIK mandate as well as his expectation that the Mission would continue to carry out its mandate in accordance with UNSC Resolution 1244 (1999), in the coming period as well. |
