First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic sent a letter of condolences to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad, Javad Zarif, following the tragic loss of miners' lives in a coal mine in the north of Iran.

"It is with profound grief that I received the news of the tragic accident which resulted in the loss of several lives, and we are fearing for the lives of those trapped underground after the accident.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I convey my most heartfelt condolences to you, Excellency, to your Government, and to the families of the victims.

In the moments of agonizing pain, it is difficult to give comfort to the families that have lost their loved ones. I believe that those who died in the attempt to save their co-workers and friends will be remembered as brave men who carried out their duty honourably and conscientiously.

The citizens of Serbia are sympathizing with the pain of the bereaved families and friends most sincerely. In these difficult moments, our thoughts go to them", reads the condolence letter signed by the Serbian Foreign Minister.
