Minister Dacic on a two-day visit to Norway

norveskaFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic is on a two-day visit to the Kingdom of Norway, at the invitation of Norwegian Foreign Minister Mr. Børge Brende, where he will, in addition to talks with his counterpart, meet with members of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defence of the Norwegian Parliament.

At the invitation of the management of the company Telenor Group, Minister Dacic will visit the headquarters of this company, which is a major Norwegian company and a significant global player in the telecoms sector, with a very large share on the Serbian market as well.

During his stay in Oslo, the Minister will visit the latest thematic exhibition at the Technology Museum, dedicated to the exploitation of forced labour of inmates during the Second World War, in the SS camps in occupied Norway, on building megalomaniac infrastructure projects of the Third Reich. The mass presence of prisoners from Eastern and South Eastern Europe, included a large group of more than 4,200 persons from the former Yugoslavia, almost 90% of whom were ethnic Serbs.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the first Yugoslav internees in Norway in 1942, Minister Dacic will lay a wreath at the monument erected in honour of more than 3,500 prisoners killed and buried at the cemetery Vestre Gravlund in Oslo.

The Minister will hold a lecture at the Technology Museum on Serbia's place in a rapidly changing Europe for representatives of Norwegian institutions, civil society and the diplomatic corps.
