Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Budapest Rade Drobac published an article on cultural links between Serbia and Hungary, in the latest issue of "Diplomacy & Trade", a monthly.
Reminding of the contribution and activities of the Serbian community in Hungary, as well as those of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Ambassador made a particular reference to the now already traditional "Month of the Serbian Culture in Hungary", which has been taking place for seven years in a row, and to the fact that the Embassy has, over the past few years, underpinned guest appearances of renowned Serbian designers in Budapest, including a photo-exhibition of the world-famous Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic. The Embassy's efforts are also directed towards creating room for presenting not only the traditional, but also the modern arts (Industrial Design Exhibition in 2015, young designers from Belgrade took part in the Budapest Design Week in 2016, etc.). The Ambassador recalled that, in 2015, Serbia and Hungary signed the Programme of Cultural and Educational Cooperation, in force until 2017. He also highlighted that, in 2014, the Hungarian Cultural Centre was established in Belgrade, underlining the fact that the cultural exchange between the two countries might have an even larger extent, which is another reason for us to work harder to promote people-to-people contacts between the two countries through culture and tourism, seeking opportunities and modalities for better knowledge of each other and for cooperation, in the interest of both Serbia and Hungary. The article is available on page 20 of "Diplomacy & Trade". http://issuu.com/diplomacytrade/docs/dt_2017_april |
