Bilateral consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina were held in Sarajevo, 11 April 2017.
The delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia was headed by State Secretary Nemanja Stevanovic, while the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina was headed by Deputy Minister Josip Brkic. The talks focused on bilateral issues, regional cooperation and the European integration process. It was jointly noted that the bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina were good, and that they were not fraught with serious issues. An assessment was made that the high-level meetings were held at an intensive pace, and that economic relations were developed. Attention was drawn to the need to initiate, as early as possible, a meeting of experts of both sides concerning the payment of old foreign exchange deposits from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Convening of a meeting of the Inter-State Diplomatic Commission for Borders was also initiated. They noted that 75 agreements were signed between the two states, and that there was an interest in completing the treaty-law framework. They exchanged lists of agreements that would be ready for signature in the coming period. The two sides underlined the importance of cooperation between the Western Balkan countries and emphasized, in that context, the importance of the Berlin Process mechanism and harmonization of joint project proposals at the upcoming Summit in Trieste. Both sides underscored EU membership as one of their foreign-policy priorities, expressing their mutual support of the process. |
