First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today in Belgrade with the Leader of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ), Mr. Heinz-Christian Strache.
The two interlocutors discussed the bilateral relations between Serbia and Austria, with particular emphasis on the prospects for strengthening economic cooperation. They noted that Serbian and Austrian peoples were connected in many ways and that there was a large Serbian community living in Austria. Mr. Heinz-Christian Strache stressed that the Freedom Party supported the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia and advocated Serbia's full integration in the European Union. He also stressed that "without Serbia and the Serbs, peace in this area would not be possible". They also discussed concrete opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation, regional security and the migration crisis both countries were facing. Deputy Mayor of Vienna, Mr. Johann Gudenus, also attended today's meeting. |
