President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic awarded the Gold Medal of Merit to Prof Dr Roberto Veraldi, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Abruzzo region, resident in Teramo. Immediately upon receiving notification about the decoration, Charge d'Affaires a.i., Minister Counsellor Tatjana Garcevic, received Prof Dr Roberto Veraldi on the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Rome, on 10 February 2017.

Prof Dr Roberto Veraldi received an exequatur from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 27 October 2010, and has since worked persistently on protecting the interests of Serbian people in his consular jurisdiction, as well as on strengthening economic, cultural and scientific and all other ties between Abruzzo region and the Republic of Serbia.
