First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic paid an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia, today, at the invitation of his Slovenian colleague Karl Erjavec.

Serbia's Foreign Minister met President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor, President of the National Assembly Milan Brglez and Prime Minister Miro Cerar. A visit to the City Hall was arranged, as well as the meeting with Mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Jankovic, and representatives of the Serbian community in Slovenia, which took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia.

The talks between Minister Dacic and Slovenian officials focused on the enhancement of bilateral relations, economic cooperation, succession issues, European integration, migration, situation in the Western Balkans and relations with neighbouring countries.

Excellent relations between Serbia and Slovenia and the remarkable results achieved in the economic field were highlighted in all talks. Trade between the two countries has reached a billion euro, reflecting growth on an annual level. Slovenia is ranked ninth among Serbia's foreign trade partners, while Serbia is in sixth place among Slovenian partners. Possibilities were also considered for joint participation on third markets.

It was noted by both sides that the dialogue between the two states was intensified at all levels. The Slovenian side expressed its satisfaction at the successful implementation of the Agreement on Succession Issues which was for Slovenia one of the major issues in the bilateral relations with Serbia.

The visit confirmed the good relations existing between the two states, their common interests and strengthening of their economic cooperation.
