Bilingual monograph (in Serbian and English) titled "Serbia in the 19th Century Seen by Foreigners", authored by Professor Svein Mønnesland, a Norwegian Slavonic studies expert, was presented at the Historical Museum of Oslo, on 14 December, co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Norway and the Historical Museum.
Ambassador Suzana Boskovic-Prodanovic welcomed the attendees on behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and pointed to the importance of this richly illustrated collection of writings authored by foreign travellers who stayed in Serbia or travelled through it in the 19th century, and who subsequently translated their impressions in writing. Professor Svein Mønnesland compiled these writings and organized them according to areas of life, and subsequently enriched them with authentic illustrations from the same period. The promotion of this very interesting work was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, elite cultural and scientific circles of Oslo, and representatives of the Serbian academic Diaspora. |
