A soiree of Serbia-Japan cultural exchange, including presentation of Serbian culture to Japanese audiences, was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, hosted by Japanese "AZ Group" company, taking part in the "Global Night" project of introducing countries through culture. Having in mind the fact that the target group were the Japanese who never had the opportunity to visit Serbia so far, representatives of the Embassy and T. Nagato and D. Oyazu held a one-hour presentation about Serbia, its geography, natural beauties, landmarks of Belgrade and Novi Sad, World Heritage sites, culinary specialities, traditional beverages and the successes of Serbian athletes at the 2016 Olympics.

Ambassador Nenad Glisic invited the attendees to visit Serbia, to see for themselves its scenic beauties and experience its hospitality, and to familiarize themselves with its culture, music and cuisine. A representative from the Society for the Promotion of Music Cooperation between Japan and Serbia and wife of the former Ambassador of Japan to Belgrade Etsuko Tsunozaki, clad in the traditional Serbian costume, talked about her positive experiences during her four-year stay in Serbia.

The musical part of the programme included the performance of the Japanese band JapaLkan, headed by a young trumpeter Naoki Hishinuma, who played, with the guitar accompaniment, the songs called "Oj, Coko, Coko, crno oko" and "Hajde, Jano", while Etsuko Tsunozaki joined them on violin for the rendition of "Ederlezi". Ambassador Glisic joined the performers on the guitar for the interpretation of "Autumn Leaves".
