First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic met today in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi.
The interlocutors estimated that the relations between the two countries had reached a historical peak and that promoting the relations to the level of all-round strategic partnership provided an excellent basis for further deepening the cooperation in all areas. China's firm support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia was reiterated as well as Serbia's support to the "One-China" policy. Satisfaction was expressed with the intensity of political dialogue, while both Ministers agreed to hold regular annual meetings in the future. Both sides underscored the importance of having signed an Agreement on visa liberalisation for holders of ordinary passports, expected to enter into force early next year. They expressed an expectation that the visa liberalisation would contribute to the strengthening of overall cooperation, in particular in tourism and people-to-people exchange. Minister Dacic participated in the China – CEEC Think-Tank Symposium hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), where he addressed as an honorary guest the audience of over two hundred people, presenting Serbia's view on the importance of the role and prospect of promoting cooperation in the framework of this significant mechanism |
