Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia M. Bacevic was in Ulaanbaatar on the occasion of marking the 60th anniversary since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Serbia and Mongolia (20 November 1956).
On the occasion of this anniversary, President of the Republic of Serbia T. Nikolic and President of Mongolia Ts. Elbegdorj and Foreign Ministers I. Dacic and Ts. Munkh-Orgil exchanged their messages of congratulation. During his visit to Ulaanbaatar, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia M. Bacevic had separate meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ts. Munkh-Orgil, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry Ts. Dashdorj and Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sport J. Batsuuri, when both sides expressed interest in further enhancement of overall cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Mongolia. On the occasion of this anniversary, a reception was held at the Foreign Ministry of Mongolia on 24 November 2016, attended by representatives of Mongolia's political and social life, diplomatic corps in Ulaanbaatar, and the Serbian Diaspora in Mongolia. Mongolia's Foreign Minister Tsend Munkh-Orgil opened the ceremony by way of his introductory remarks, where he underlined the importance of the decades-long friendship between Mongolia and Serbia, and the readiness of Mongolia's side for the improvement of cooperation with the Republic of Serbia in all areas. In his statement, Ambassador M. Bacevic recalled the formerly very well developed cooperation between the two countries, positively assessing the upswing in the relations over the past few years, and expressed the readiness of the Republic of Serbia to energize cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, mining and energy, education and culture, with particular gratitude for Mongolia's support on sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia. In the context of the anniversary celebrations, one of the movie theatres in Ulaanbaatar screened the "Bicemo prvaci sveta" film (We Will Be the World Champions), attended by around 150 Ulaanbaatar university students. |
