Bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Argentina were held on 11 October 2016, in Buenos Aires, at the level of Assistant Ministers. The Serbian delegation was headed by Assistant Foreign Minister, Ambassador Goran Aleksic while the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Gustavo Zlauvinen led the consultations on behalf of Argentina.

During the cordial and open meeting, a very high level of political relations between our two countries was noted, at both bilateral and multilateral levels. The Argentine side provided information regarding Islas Malvinas/Falkland Islands and the efforts undertaken with the aim of renewing bilateral negotiations with the UK. Further steps in the direction of enhancement of economic cooperation, which was currently at a relatively low level, were suggested. The topical issues of bilateral relations in parliamentary and contractual areas, including culture, sports, cooperation between the Diplomatic Academies, etc. were also discussed. At the end of the meeting, views were exchanged on the current regional and global topics."
