Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Netherlands attended, on 1 October 2016, a regular annual commemorative meeting and memorial service for twenty-two Serbian soldiers, who died in the Netherlands in early 1919. The meeting was held next to the tombs situated at the local cemetery in Garderen.

Father Voja Bilbija from the Holy Trinity Parish in Rotterdam and Father Dusan Erdelj from the Saint Sava Parish in Nijmegen performed the memorial mass service. On behalf of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, Ambassador Petar Vico, First Counsellor Dragan Milojevic, as well as the Mayor of Barneveld, laid wreaths.
