Following the panel discussion dedicated to Serbia-NATO cooperation in the framework of Partnership for Peace programme held within the Belgrade Security Forum, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic received NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General James Appathurai.

The cooperation carried out so far between Serbia and NATO in the framework of Partnership for Peace programme was assessed as positive, and prospects considered for its further promotion, while respecting Serbia's policy of military neutrality.

Minister Dacic expressed his satisfaction with the strengthening of political dialogue, underlining the importance of last year's visit of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to Serbia, as well as of the recent meetings between Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the NATO Secretary General on the margins of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York. They also discussed the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Vucic to the NATO Headquarters to take place in late November of this year.

Branimir Filipovic, Assistant Foreign Minister for security policy, also met with the NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General. In addition to bilateral relations, they discussed the situation in the region and analysed the results achieved in the implementation of the first Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between Serbia and NATO.
