On 5 October 2016, the exhibition titled "Dobrovic, Sumanovic, Konjovic, Suput - European Contexts" opened in the gallery of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU). The exhibition was hosted by the Gallery of the Serbian Cultural Society (Matica srpska), in cooperation with MANU, Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and the Serbian Embassy in Macedonia, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. At the opening of the exhibition, the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Dusanka Divjak-Tomic, among others, addressed the audience. The opening was attended by Macedonian Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kaceska-Milevska and Deputy Minister of Culture Dragan Nedeljkovic, Macedonian Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, representatives from the diplomatic corps and Macedonian public and cultural life, as well as by many citizens.
The exhibition encompasses the works of four artists: Petar Dobrovic, Sava Sumanovic, Milan Konjovic and Bogdan Suput, whose art marked Serbian art in the first part of the twentieth century. Forty-two works of art (36 paintings and 6 etchings) have been on display. |
