First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had talks today with the non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Serbia, with residence in Budapest, Nurbah Rustemov.
In the meeting, they discussed the current bilateral issues and prospects of their promotion, primarily in the field of economy. Minister Dacic pointed to the importance of the recently realized visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, as an indicator of the intensified cooperation between the two countries as well as an encouragement to companies coming from the two states to embark on more ambitious business arrangements. Furthermore, the Minister estimated the relations between Serbia and Kazakhstan as good, without open issues. The Serbian side emphasised its gratitude to Kazakhstan for their principled position on the respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia, and for Kazakhstan's posture taken during the General Conference of UNESCO, in November 2015, when Kazakhstan voted against the admission of Kosovo to this Organisation. Ambassador Rustemov reaffirmed the importance of first-ever visit to Serbia paid by a President of Kazakhstan, particularly in the context of it having been realized in the year marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. |
