First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received a congratulatory message from Turkey's Minister for EU Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Mr. Ömer Çelik on the occasion of re-appointment to his office in the new Serbian Government:

"I would like to congratulate you on the re-appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.

I firmly believe that you will contribute further to the strengthening of friendly relations existing between our two countries, based on mutual interest and trust.

Considering that membership of the European Union is a strategic goal of Turkey, I believe that a closer cooperation and consultations between our two countries on this issue would be beneficial to both Serbia and Turkey in reaching our goals further along the negotiating process with the European Union.
