First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic received today Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia Li Manchang.

Ambassador Li Manchang delivered to Minister Dacic a letter of congratulations from the Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Wang Yi, on the occasion of his reappointment as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi extended his sincere congratulations to the Serbian Foreign Minister and stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China wished to further strengthen its communication and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, as well as to make a new joint contribution, so as to encourage both the deepening and development of the overall strategic partnership between the two countries.

In their cordial talks, the two sides expressed their mutual satisfaction at the successful development of their bilateral cooperation, along with the wishes for further intensification of relations.

Minister Dacic and Ambassador Li Manchang jointly underlined the large scope of opportunities for cooperation within the China – CEEC Mechanism, whose Summit will take place in Riga, in December.

In the talks, the interlocutors also stated that the intensification of dialogue at the multilateral level, particularly in the light of the upcoming session of the UN General Assembly in September this year, was of profound importance to both countries as well.

Minister Dacic and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China were especially pleased to highlight in their talks the high level of understanding and mutual support on a number of issues of vital interest for both Serbia and China, as well as cooperation within numerous international fora.

Ambassador Li Manchang emphasized that he considered Serbia to be a very friendly country, as well as one of China's most important partners in the region and Europe alike.
