On 1 August 2016, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo staged a charity exhibition "Young Hopefuls of Egypt", at the Ambassador's residence in Zamalek. In cooperation with Helwan University's Faculty of Art Education, the Serbian Embassy traditionally organizes an annual competition for the best students of art. The best works are awarded by the Embassy and "Alexbank", the general sponsors of the event.

Addressing the attendants, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Cairo Dragan Bisenic said that there were young and talented people in Egypt who deserved the support of the Embassy. Present at the event were numerous representatives of the diplomatic corps, Ambassadors from the MFA of Egypt, high political figures and prominent personages from social and business spheres, and also representatives of the academia and the art community.
