The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia presented today a Note of Protest to the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Belgrade, Lazar Mirkic, expressing a strong protest over the content of the video available on www.youtube.com, where two unidentified, armed individuals, surrounded with the former flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina (which used to be in official use up until 1998), and the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, are setting two state flags of the Republic of Serbia on fire, all accompanied with shooting from firearms and songs with distinct national, Islamic and religious nature.
Apart from pointing out that this act, directed against one of the most important state symbols of the Republic of Serbia, was utterly unacceptable, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia expressed its expectation that the relevant authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina would conduct prompt investigation, with a view to tracking down the perpetrators of this improper act, and punishing them within the law. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia also expresses a special interest of the relevant authorities of the Republic of Serbia being timely informed about the course of the aforementioned investigation. |
