dacic amb_izrael_22720161First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the caretaker Government of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic talked today with Ambassador of the State of Israel in Belgrade Joseph Levy, who is about to end his five-year tenure in the Republic of Serbia.

In the friendly and cordial talks both sides assessed that this period brought significant and positive improvements in the bilateral relations between Serbia and Israel.

The Ambassador of Israel reiterated that this country would further maintain its stance of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, along the lines of Israel's positions presented to President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic during his official visit to the State of Israel in May 2013.

Israel's Ambassador Joseph Levy expressed his hope that Serbia would join the EU as soon as possible, and be among those EU Member States that maintained a positive relationship with Israel.
