First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic assessed that the statement made by Mayor of Srebrenica Camil Durakovic was a disgraceful one.
"The Government of the Republic of Serbia and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic have invested great efforts to normalize regional relations and achieve regional stability. Obviously, there are politicians who thrive on conflicts and who do not wish to create a better future, but to deepen past conflicts. Instead of responding to the question of who and why tried to assassinate the Serbian Prime Minister in Srebrenica, Durakovic, in tandem with Izetbegovic, denounces Prime Minister Vucic for coming to Srebrenica in the first place, and for the fact that the Government of the Republic of Serbia made a donation to this municipality. The whole world has welcomed those actions taken by Serbia and Prime Minister Vucic, except for those who are keen on maintaining the war-mongering rhetoric. No one can teach lessons to Serbia and humiliate it. And will ever anyone, apart from the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, condemn the crimes committed against another people? The wish for reconciliation and stability is not our weakness, but rather our strength and an advantage of both Serbia and its Government." |
