First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic received today Ambassador of the French Republic in Belgrade Christine Moro, discussing the current situation and further prospects regarding the cooperation between Serbia and the International Organisation of La Francophonie.
Both sides assessed as positive the results of a decade-long cooperation and the participation of the Republic of Serbia in the work of this international organization. They expressed satisfaction with the signing of the Memorandum on continued cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and La Francophonie for the period 2016-2018, which included provision of French language courses for diplomats and civil servants, their participation in thematic events on European integration, and also holding a seminar in Belgrade in the autumn of 2016. Minister Dacic reaffirmed the political will and commitment of both the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia to further strengthening the cooperation with La Francophonie, including their readiness to, upon the formation of the new Serbian Government, organize a meeting with the Group of Ambassadors of La Francophonie Member States at the Ministry. Minister Dacic and Ambassador Moro noted that the bilateral relations between Serbia and France were very good, expressing the hope that they would be promoted even further after the Western Balkans Summit in Paris on 4 July 2016, considering the number of cooperation initiatives and projects launched between the two countries. |
