At a formal ceremony held at the African Union (AU), Ambassador of the Republicof Serbiato EthiopiaH.E. Dragan Mraovic, in his capacity as the Special Envoy of President of the Republicof Serbia Tomislav Nikolic, presented Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson of the AU Commission, with the highest decoration, the Order of the Republicof Serbiaon a sash. President of the Republicof Serbia Tomislav Nikolicawarded Dr Dlamini-Zuma to honour her contribution to the development and strengthening of peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between the Republicof Serbiaand the AU.

Prior to the award presentation, Ambassador Mraovic read an announcement stating the reasons for the distinction, along with expressions of gratitude to Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma and to the AU Commission for their support to the preservation of the territorial integrity of the Republicof Serbia(by denying "Kosovo's" request to be granted an AU partner status). Chairperson of the AU Commission Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma expressed her gratitude for the high honour which had been conferred on her on this occasion by theRepublic ofSerbia.
